Photonic Light: Great Star Image

Photonic Light

Here is a great star-scape from Jason E Jenkins, that I feature, with details of how Jason took the image.

"Celestial Crossing"

Constellations are seldom visible in urban areas due to light pollution however, there are some nights its possible to view the faint star light glimmer in the night sky. On this particular night i sat along the shoreline at Treasure Island watching Canis Major and Orion in transit above the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge. I knew the constellations were too high in the sky to fit with the landscape into a single frame so i decided to compose a vertical panorama. This is the result of 3 images blended in post production.
